Cadillac Sharpens Its Edge with a new era
of Cadillac Luxury Performance
Cadillac
enters the luxury performance market with a series of vehicles offering
buyers an alternative in this highly competitive segment.
The V-Series and the performance it represents have a long-standing
heritage at Cadillac. Throughout its history, Cadillac has offered
high-output engines. Starting in 1915, Cadillac offered the world's
first mass produced V8 followed by the legendary V12 and V16 engines
of the 1930s and the 32-valve Northstar V8 in the 1990s. Cadillac
ushers in its next century of developing innovative luxury vehicles
by introducing a series of vehicles that achieve outstanding acceleration,
handling and braking performance.
V-Series
enhancements will include increased horsepower; manual or automatic-manual
transmissions; performance-tuned suspensions; additional instrumentation;
specific exterior design elements; and larger wheels, tires and
brakes. These elements combine to deliver an unparalleled driving
experience.
The first V-Series available will be the Cadillac CTS-V (image
shown above). The CTS-V will begin production in late 2003 and will
build on the critically acclaimed performance of the current CTS.

SIXTEEN - Cadillac reveals a new era in ultra luxury
Cadillac defies convention and shatters all notions of what an ultra
luxury car should be with the Cadillac Sixteen concept model. This
new breed of Cadillac surges past other vehicles in this class,
creating an entire new realm of opulence, craftsmanship and technological
wizardry.
The Cadillac Sixteen is rear-wheel drive powered by an all-aluminum
13.6-liter engine. It includes technology such as Displacement on
Demand, which allows the engine to run on four, eight or sixteen
cylinders depending on driving conditions.
The Cadillac Sixteen reflects the bold, dramatic design of the new
Cadillac, with much of the car's structure and body panels made
of aluminum. The highly refined and malleable aluminum allowed Cadillac
craftsmen to create shapes and designs that would not have been
possible if only steel and wood were used.

CIEN - Breaks through into the next century
Winner of the Best Concept Award at the 2002 North American Auto
Show, the Cien is Cadillac's blueprint for the future. On the outside,
a sleek body inspired by the F-22 Stealth fighter aircraft. On the
inside, a 7.5-liter Northstar XV12 powerplant with an astounding
750 horsepower and Cadillac's leading-edge technologies such as
Night Vision, StabiliTrak, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist and OnStar.
At Cadillac, the future is here.

IMAJ - The embodiment of possibilities you never knew existed
An all-wheel-drive ultra-luxury sedan with exhilarating performance
and incredible technological applications, the concept model Imaj
debuted to critical acclaim at the 2000 Geneva Auto Show. On the
outside, sheer faceted forms exude a diamond-like quality, underscored
by knife-edged coachwork, from the louvered roof panels to integrated
front and rear aero panels. Underneath the hood, Imaj is powered
by a supercharged Northstar V8, generating 425 horsepower. Other
impressive features include front and rear Night Vision, Goodyear
run-flat tires and the next generation of StabiliTrak.
VIZON
- A vision of modern luxury
Cadillac has boldly and beautifully bridged the gap between SUVs
and luxury sport sedans. The result is the 2001 concept model Vizon,
a vehicle like no other.
The exterior is sheer, sharp and straightforward, an homage to
Cadillac's trademark vertical look, beautifully mirrored in the
sleek, high-tech headlights.
The interior follows the "less is more" theme with full
amenities for four occupants, unique cargo opportunities and sophisticated
levels of technology and equipment that tucks away when not in use.
Vizon complements its luxury with proven Cadillac active safety
systems such as Night Vision, Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist, StabiliTrak
and OnStar.
EVOQ
- Bold form, distinctive function
A rear-wheel-drive two-seater with a retractable hardtop. The 2000
concept model Evoq makes a dramatic statement. Key design elements
include a strong full-length spline line across the body, a trapezoidal
sail, vertical headlamps and tail lamps, full-width center high-mounted
stop lamp, and a classic Cadillac egg-crate front grille.
Underneath the hood, the 4.2-liter Northstar V8 delivers 405 horsepower
and 385 ft-lbs of torque. The chassis is dominated by two solid
hydroformed rails that run from front to back, providing Evoq with
a strong performance base, with the hardtop up or down.
Evoq also showcases a host of advanced technologies, including
Night Vision; Ultrasonic Rear Parking Assist; rear-vision cameras;
Extended Mobility Tires from Michelin; and Communiport, a wireless
mobile multimedia system with voice-activated capabilities.
