PSji (Partho Sen-Gupta) is an OIF (Overseas Indian Filmmaker) born in Shivaji Park area of Amchi Mumbai in 1965. He started his film career at the age of seventeen (1982) as an assistant with Art Director Bijon Das Gupta.(Sagar, Woh saat Din, Mr. India etc) In 1988, he became art director and worked on numerous films, commercials and TV series (Raakh, Mein Zinda Hoon, Nocturne Indien etc) He then studied film direction at La FEMIS in Paris (1993-1997).
His first feature Hava Aney Dey premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2004.He also made a 70 min documentary on the Indo-European music group Shakti. released on DVD by Universal Music. Born and raised in Mumbai, he lived in Paris from 1993-2006. He now lives sometimes in the UK and sometimes in Mumbai. MORE…
